Olfactory Function in Schizophrenia: A Lifespan Analysis

The objective of this study is to examine the neurodevelopmental contributions to chemosensory dysfunction in patients. Along with studying a schizophrenia population, high-risk subjects and family members will also be studied. The study involves two sessions, the first being a 2 hour psychophysical assessment involving a number of smell tests and facial measurements. The second being a 1 hour structural MRI of the olfactory cortex and the olfactory bulbs and tracts. Each part compensates $35 and there are no more than minimal risk involved with participation in the study.
