INSC 579 Advanced Synaptic Transmission (Dalva and Parsons)

This course provides an in depth examination of synaptic transmission. The course requires a background in basic neuroscience such as that provided in the INSC Core courses. The course consists of once a week discussions of primary literature. Students are expected to read and be able to discuss the assigned papers. The topics covered provide were selected to include works that underpin our understanding of synaptic transmission and plasticity as well as current important areas of research. The overall goal seeks to provide students with the tools to critically read and assimilate new information.
