Welcome

The Biomedical Graduate Student Association (BGSA) is the coordinating student body charged with representing all students enrolled in the Biomedical Graduate Studies program at the University of Pennsylvania. We monitor issues of importance to the biomedical graduate student community, represent the concerns of Biomedical Graduate Students to the University administration, and advocate for changes to enhance the quality of biomedical graduate education. We also serve as a liaison among the student populations of the biomedical graduate programs and sponsor academic and social events of interest to the biomedical graduate student community.

BGSA General Assembly

The BGSA General Assembly, which includes the BGSA Executive Board and all BGS and combined degree students, meets on the first Monday of each month at 6 PM. Meetings are held in BRB Room 251, and dinner is provided. Meetings include votes on funding requests, planning of BGSA social and academic events, and discussion of topics of interest put forth by the General Assembly. All BGSA and combined degree students are encouraged to regularly attend monthly meetings. The BGSA Exec Board invites all students to suggest agenda items for monthly meetings, and hopes to foster an open-forum discussion of issues important to BGS and combined degree students. If you would like to suggest an agenda item, please email eliadta@mail.med.upenn.edu.
