Come join us for science and fun!

The Dr. George W. Raiziss Retreat, sponsored by the Department of Biochemistry and Biophysics (B&B) and the Graduate Group in Biochemistry and Molecular Biophysics (BMB), will be held on November 12- 13, 2015 at the Skytop Lodge in the Pocono Mountains.

This retreat, now in its 32nd year, is an opportunity to learn about the scientific work that is going on in the Department and the Graduate Group through formal lectures and poster presentations. The Skytop Lodge offers a wide range of indoor and outdoor activities for recreation and also for fostering interactions with fellow students, faculty and research staff.

Come and enjoy the science, the people, and the beautiful surroundings of the Poconos!  We are excited for this opportunity to enhance connections among the biochemical and biophysical community at Penn.

Registration deadline: October 2, 2015

Micrograph image: Microcolonies of a mixture of two strains of E. coli that each express a different fluorescent protein. Blue cells harbor a mutation that allows them to grow only in the presence of oxygen. Yellow and dark cells have expression of the fluorescent protein linked to expression of the trimethylamine oxide reductase system.
