The 5th ANNUAL POSTDOCTORAL RESEARCH SYMPOSIUM is scheduled for OCTOBER 11, 2006 in BRB II/III Auditorium and Atrium. We encourage all postdocs to submit their abstract and participate in this annual event.

-Poster Sessions and Oral Presentations open for participation to all BPP postdocs
-Awards for the best posters and oral presentations
-Keynote Lecture: Bonnie L. Bassler, Ph.D., Professor, Department of Molecular Biology, Princeton University
This is a great way to practice your presentation skills as well as a FREE educational opportunity for all postdocs organized by the Biomedical Postdoctoral Council (BPC) and Office of Biomedical Postdoctoral Programs (BPP).
All accepted abstracts will be published in the Symposium handbook.

Welcoming Social Mixer for CHOP Postdocs
The Biomedical Postdoctoral Council (BPC) is delighted to announce a welcoming reception for the postdoctoral fellows from the Childrens Hospital of Pennsylvania (CHOP).
Second year postdocs and up from CHOP have recently joined the Biomedical Postdoc Programs (BPP) affiliate.
In addition, the BPC will also hold a presentation detailing the objectives and accomplishments of the council and inform postdocs of why they should get involved and how they can get involved-
The welcoming reception will take place on the 14th floor of BRB 2/3 on Wednesday June 28th, 2006 from 4pm-6pm. The BPC presentation will take place from 4.30-5.00pm.

Ron Klasko heads the Klasko Immigration and Nationality Law firm with offices in Philadelphia and New York. Ron is a former national President and three-term General Counsel of the American Immigration Lawyers Association (AILA). He is listed in Best Lawyers in America and the International Who's Who of Business Lawyers. He is a frequent lecturer and prolific author on immigration law topics, and is one of only two immigration lawyers ever honored with the Founders Award, bestowed on the individual or group who has the most important impact on immigration law.

The Foreign National Committee of the Biomedical Postdoctoral Council holds monthly information/ orientation sessions for new postdocs. The February orientation will be held on Thursday February 23rd, 2006 from 12:00-1:00 PM in Johnson Pavilion - Room 209.
