Diversity Committee
Mission
The Diversity Committee is a branch of the Biomedical Postdoctoral Council run for and by postdoctoral scholars from underrepresented backgrounds. These include people of color [Hispanic Americans, African Americans, Native Americans (including Alaska Natives), and natives of the U.S. Pacific Islands], women, people with disabilities, and the LGBTQ (lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgendered, queer/questioning) community.
This committee aims to provide information about opportunities such as conferences, workshops, seminars, grants/fellowships, travel awards, and volunteer opportunities uniquely related to issues of diversity. In addition, this committee seeks to provide a social and support network for underrepresented members of the biomedical postdoctoral community.
Get Involved!
Please join us at our monthly meetings, held on the LAST Wednesday of every month @ 12-noon, 207 Johnson Pavilion.
We hope you can join us for the next Biomedical Postdoctoral Council Diversity Committee Meeting on Wednesday, May 25, 2011, for a "Vent it All: A meeting for airing your end of the year gripes."
