Current activities

Volunteering opportunity for 18th annual Philly Cares Day on October 22nd, 2011

The Biomedical Postdoc Council Community Service Committee will participate in the 18th annual Philly Cares Day (PCD) on October 22, 2011 - National Make a Difference Day!  Greater Philadelphia Cares (GPC) has worked with The School District of Philadelphia for 18 consecutive years to make Philly Cares Day a success.  It is the largest managed volunteer day in Philadelphia that will help approximately 100 schools, communities, and recreation centers around the Philadelphia region. You will help improve the quality of these organizations that help inspire our students to learn.  Anyone and everyone is encouraged to come volunteer on October 22, 2011 so friends and family are welcome.  We have been assigned Kenderton School in North Philly (near Temple Hospital) where we will be painting murals, hallways, playgrounds and gardening to make the school a nice environment for the students.

If you would like to join the BPC community service volunteer team for this event and for more information, please e mail me at sarahcol@dental.upenn.edu by Wed Oct 19th.
