Dr. Donald Schwarz, Deputy Mayor for Health and Opportunity and Health Commissioner for the City of Philadelphia, kicked off the session, followed by former BTG Clinical Scholar, Chris Renjilian, MD (2011), who is now a pediatric intern at Children's Hospital of Philadelphia.

At the 2008 Symposium, two of the student coordinators entertained the crowd with their performance of an educational rap, “Circulatory System,” by Rhythm, Rhymes, Results, with the addition of some of the students’ own lyrics.
