thinkfirst

Penn Medicine and the University of Pennsylvania have joined other hospitals in the area to re-introduce ThinkFirst to Philadelphia and surrounding communities, with the hope to turn the tide of permanent injuries in young people. Staff from the departments of Neurosurgery and Trauma Medicine are leading volunteers from several departments to introduce Street Smart, a superhero developed to help kids “ThinkFirst” before taking action, to local elementary schools and organizations.

Now available to be integrated into first through third grade classrooms, the ThinkFirst for Kids program was developed by the American Association of Neurological Surgeons and the Congress of Neurological Surgeons. It is a new approach for the ThinkFirst National Injury Prevention Foundation, which has traditionally sponsored school assemblies for youth in 4th through 12 grades.
