M. Sean Grady, M.d.
Charles Harrison Frazier Professor and Chair of the Department of Neurosurgery
Charles Harrison Frazier Professor and Chair of the Department of Neurosurgery Dr. Grady was recruited to lead the Department of Neurosurgery in 1999 from the University of Washington, where he was an investigator in the clinical trials of anti-convulsants after TBI. He continues his laboratory work today as part of the Center for Brain Injury and Repair, using laboratory models to help identify mechanisms that underlie brain recovery, particularly recovery of memory function. One of the key missions of the department is to continue its strong tradition of collaboration between basic scientists and neurosurgeons to improve outcomes in patients with all degrees of brain injury.
