Director's Corner

Two valued members of our Center for Cognitive Therapy (CCT) team are retiring at the end of 2012. Tina Inforzato, our longtime administrative assistant, and Dr. Rita Ryan, one of our full-time faculty therapists will be leaving to begin new chapters in their lives. We wish them both well, though we will certainly miss them very much. For patients of Dr. Ryan, please know that we can arrange for you to see someone else here at the CCT if you wish to continue your treatment. Feel free to call me directly at 215-898-3466 if you would like to inquire further.

For all of our patients, Tina’s departure means that you will no longer be using Room 2046 on the second floor to check in and submit payment for your CCT sessions. Instead, you will check in on the Mezzanine Level (with Joe Dellaripa in the Penn Behavioral Health suite, right above Subway), and then coming up to the 2nd floor as usual to fill out your mood questionnaires and to wait in the main waiting area for your therapist to come greet you. This new routine will commence on Wednesday, January 2, 2013.

We strive to be available for patients with as little delay as possible, as your time and wellness are priorities to us. If you have any concerns about the length of time you are waiting for treatment to begin, please do not hesitate to contact me directly at 215-898-3466.

Although we welcome the chance to treat new patients, we also strive to direct patients to the most appropriate outside therapist if coming to the Center for Cognitive Therapy is not an option for some reason. If you have an interest in obtaining cognitive therapy (also known as cognitive-behavioral therapy) but cannot be seen at our offices, we can still help point you in the right direction. We have given patients referrals to family and couples therapists, child and adolescent therapists, Medicare providers, forensic psychiatrists, career counselors, and to free treatment studies. We want as many people as possible to benefit from cognitive therapy, even when we are not the appropriate resource.
