Sexual Risks Scale - Attitudes Toward Condom Use (The Society for the Scientific Study of Sexuality)

Includes reliability and references. This scale can be used to assess attitudes toward condom use among college students. This is a subscale of the Sexual Risks Scale

Health Belief Model - Intentions for Safer Sex (Baywood Publishing)

Contains reliability information. This scale can be used to assess safer sex intentions among adolescents. Used on a sample of 452 African American and White incarcerated youth between the ages of 13 and 18. This is a subscale of the Health Belief Model scale.

Voluntary Counseling and Testing

Center for AIDS Prevention Studies (UCSF)

HIV Counseling and Testing in Developing Countries. These surveys are used with the Voluntary HIV Counseling and Testing Efficacy study, which was a randomized clinical trial of the effectiveness of HIV counseling and testing for the prevention of new HIV infections. The study was conducted at three sites: Nairobi, Kenya; Dar- Es- Salaam, Tanzania and Port-of-Spain, Trinidad. Has reliability/validity and reference information.

Designed to assess: 1) the behavioral, psychosocial and social risk factors that influence high-risk drug users decisions to test for HIV, 2) the service delivery factors that influence high-risk drug users' decision to test for HIV; 3) how high-risk drug users employ HIV testing in personal prevention strategies; 4) and how knowledge of HIV test results affects risk behavior.

NIMH Multisite HIV Risk Prevention Assessment

This tool provides strategies for assessing risk in an organization in order to identify areas where process improvement is needed to increase medication safety. The tool addresses the needs and perspectives of five distinct hospital audiences.

CDC Sexual Behavior Questions, CDC Drug-Related HIV Risk and Preventive Behaviors, CDC HIV Testing Questions

The three risk assessments above are being developed by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention HIV-STD Behavioral Surveillance Working Group to standardize collection of data on HIV risk and preventive behaviors. The assessments include baseline items and items to be asked at subsequent follow-up periods.

HIV Risk-taking Behavior Scale (National Drug and Alcohol Research Center)

This scale can be used to assess HIV risk among intravenous drug users (Darke et al., 1991). The HIV risk-taking behavior scale (HRBS) includes two subscales to measure injecting and sexual behavior. Includes reference and reliability
