The mission of the Penn CFAR Clinical Core is to promote and support patient-oriented research related to HIV infection and its co-morbidities.
The Clinical Core maintains longitudinal databases that currently include information on over 3,100 HIV-infected men, women, adolescents, and children receiving care in the UPHS. These databases, Adult/Adolescent Database and a Pediatric Database, contain patient demographics, clinical and therapeutic information, and behavioral and psychosocial data. The Pediatric and Adult/Adolescent Databases contain clinical data that can be linked to repository specimens.
These resources will be used to promote interdisciplinary and translational research at the University of Pennsylvania, Children's Hospital of Philadelphia, and The Wistar Institute.
