The Immunologists at the University of Pennsylvania, CHOP, and the Wistar Institute study the host immune response to HIV in an effort to understand the components that are relevant to preventing disease progression and that could be important in preventing infection. Areas of particular interest include studies of immune reconstitution in HIV-infected patients treated with anti-retroviral drugs and novel approaches to develop HIV vaccine strategies.
