Deadline April 15, 2013
The Center for Healthcare Improvement and Patient Safety (CHIPS) will fund multiple one-year pilot study projects, up to $15K per project. Funded projects will aim to improve healthcare delivery and outcomes or promote patient safety in the in-patient or ambulatory care setting. The awards will provide new investigators with funds to obtain preliminary data regarding feasibility and methodology, effect sizes and findings relating to new research ideas relevant to healthcare quality, safety, efficiency, and effectiveness. Eligible pilot projects should be designed to collect sufficient preliminary data to enable the investigator to prepare a hypothesis-based proposal for future research funding.
Research projects may fall into any of the following quality improvement and patient safety areas 1) patient-centered outcomes 2) comparative effectiveness 3) quality improvement and patient safety 4) cost effectiveness 5) dissemination and implementation science.
Award: Each pilot study will be funded up to $15K for personnel and/or other study costs.
