Effects of Medication on Mental Performance

Description: This study tests the effects of a medication called tolcapone on how your brain works after 24 hours of not smoking. This medication has been widely used in the United States. Eligible participants will be asked to make visits to the Center at the University of Pennsylvania, over about 6 weeks. Participants will be compensated for their time and travel. Effects of Stopping Smoking on Mental Performance

Description: Are you interested in quitting smoking, but need some help along the way? The University of Pennsylvania is seeking volunteers, between the ages of 18 and 60, to test the effects of an investigational medication on smoking behavior. During this study, you will have a practice quit attempt. You will then have the opportunity to participate in a free smoking cessation program in our Center. Eligible participants will be compensated for their time and travel, as well as free smoking cessation treatment, if desired.
