Quit Smoking Research Programs

Quit for Health Program (PNAT)

In this program, eligible participants will receive study medication and counseling and training in skills to quit smoking with a trained smoking cessation counselor. All treatment is provided at no cost, and eligible participants will be compensated for time and travel.

Maintenance Therapy Nicotine Patch

Call (877) 513-7848 to find out if you are eligible.

In a year long research study, eligible participants will be randomly assigned to wear the 21 mg nicotine patch for 8 weeks, 24 weeks, or 52 weeks.  All participants will receive counseling for a full year.

MAPS for Quitting Smoking

In this program, eligible smokers will complete an Internet based training program and receive nicotine patches and quit smoking counseling, all at no cost. Participants will be compensated for time and travel.

Brain Mechanisms Underlying Smoking Relapse

In this program, eligible smokers will receive individual training in skills to quit smoking with an expert smoking cessation counselor plus free brain scans. All treatment is free, and eligible smokers will be compensated for their time and travel.
