Welcome to the CMHPSR
The Center for Mental Health Policy and Services Research (CMHPSR) was established in 1986, and is one of the centers in the Department of Psychiatry of the Health System, Perelman School of Medicine, an outstanding international research institution. The CMHPSR consists of a multidisciplinary group of faculty and staff who study the organization, financing, management and delivery of mental health care. Center faculty and staff also provide consultation and technical support to state and local governments, as well as mental health agencies implementing system change. Our objective is to link the best research and evaluation findings to policy decisions, and the delivery and implementation of services.

In this seminar sponsored by the Leonard Davis Institute (LDI) and the Center for Mental Health Policy and Services Research (CMHPSR), Dr. Marc Atkins presented a mental service model that identifies and leverages indigenous resources within schools and communities to change the social context of schooling for youth in urban poverty, and promote opportunities for positive mental health and improved academic outcomes for children.
