Welcome to the CMHPSR
Established in 1986, The Center for Mental Health Policy and Services Research (CMHPSR) is one of the centers in the Department of Psychiatry of the Health System, Perelman School of Medicine, an outstanding international research institution. The CMHPSR consists of a group of multidisciplinary faculty and staff who research the organization, financing, and management structure of mental health care systems and the delivery of mental health services and provides consultation and technical support to those individuals and programs involved in implementing system change. Our objective is to link the best research and evaluation findings to policy decisions, and the delivery and implementation of services.

Dr. David Mandell, Director, CMHPSR and Dr. Jill Locke, Post-doctoral Fellow, will present on outcomes of their Autism Science Foundation-funded grant "Implementing Evidence-Based Social Skills Interventions in Public School Settings" at the Rockland County Autism Symposium, a day long learning event for special education teachers, regular education teachers, parents and other stakeholders.-

In this seminar sponsored by the Leonard Davis Institute (LDI) and the Center for Mental Health Policy and Services Research (CMHPSR), Dr. Marc Atkins presented a mental service model that identifies and leverages indigenous resources within schools and communities to change the social context of schooling for youth in urban poverty, and promote opportunities for positive mental health and improved academic outcomes for children.
