Dr. Berkowitz develops treatment and intervention models and evaluates their effectiveness. His work focused on psychosocially stressed and disadvantaged children, adolescents and individuals. He is currently the principal investigator in Philadelphia on a DSM V field trial for children that have been chronically traumatized. The study is funded by the Juvenile Research Institute in Boston.
