Dr. Cidav is a post-doctoral research fellow at the Center for Mental Health Policy and Services Research (CMHPSR) at the University of Pennsylvania. She completed her doctorate degree in Economics at the University of Texas at Austin with a specialization in health and labor economics. She studies patterns of organization, financing and delivery of healthcare services to persons with psychiatric and developmental disabilities. Her primary research focus is on better understanding the economic consequences of mental and developmental disabilities on families, public and private health care service sectors, and society. Much of her work involves the use of survey data, healthcare claims, and public use data to examine health service use and expenditures of persons with developmental disabilities, and health service needs and experiences of their families.
