Welcome to the Third Annual CMROI Workshop on Imaging Biomarkers. The aim of this meeting is to bring together a multidisciplinary group of biologists, clinicians, physicists, bioengineers and imaging scientists to share knowledge on latest developments on noninvasive magnetic resonance and optical imaging based biomarkers for studying tissue metabolism and function. These techniques focus on clinical translation through early diagnoses as well as on the development and evaluation of new therapies in a multitude of diseases.
This year's emphasis will be on disease biomarkers for the early detection of cancer and central nervous system disorders using MRI and PET imaging. To this end, we have brought together a group of world-renowned specialists from Penn and outside. Topics covered range from pathogenesis of disease, the role of imaging biomarkers, current stage of development, and issues in clinical translation. The focused meeting will allow everyone an opportunity to interact as both sessions end with a stimulating panel discussion. There will be a poster session presented by young investigators highlighting their research. So come and spend a day together learning, teaching, and debating!
This meeting would not be possible without the generous support of our sponsors listed below.
I look forward to seeing you at the meeting!
