PI: Dr. Desmond Oathes, PhD

Dr. Oathes' Webpage

Transcranial magnetic stimulation (TMS) is an FDA- approved procedure for remediating symptoms of treatment-resistant depression. We wish to improve clinical outcomes by using brain targets individually chosen from each patient’s functional MRI scans. This study is designed to evaluate the treatment effects of TMS performed at two different brain regions. Results of the study will help us to determine which treatment strategies provide the greatest clinical benefit to patients.

Who are we looking for:

  • Individuals ages 18-55 with current PTSD
  • Individuals who are seeking a new treatment option

What you will do:

  • One MRI scan
  • 10, 1-hour long TMS treatment visits (every weekday for 2 weeks)
  • A 3- week break
  • 10 additional 1-hour long TMS treatment visits (every weekday for 2 weeks)
  • Neuropsychological assessments over the course of the study
  • There will be no charge to patients for treatment (no insurance billing)
