Welcome to the Child & Adolescent OCD, Tic, Trich & Anxiety Group (The COTTAGe), a specialty clinic in the Department of Psychiatry at the University of Pennsylvania for individuals with OCD, tic disorders, trichotillomania, anxiety and related disorders. The director of the clinic is Dr. Martin Franklin, Associate Professor of Clinical Psychology in Psychiatry.

Our staff has expertise in the treatment of anxiety and related disorders, including:

  • Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder
  • Tic Disorders
  • Trichotillomania
  • Skin-Picking and other Body-Focused Repetitive Behaviors (BFRB's)
  • Social Anxiety Disorder
  • Generalized Anxiety Disorder
  • Separation Anxiety Disorder
  • Panic Disorder/Agoraphobia
  • Specific Phobias

Our clinical services include:

Comprehensive diagnostic evaluations

Empirically-supported brief treatments for youth

Intensive outpatient treatments

Research Services

We are always involved in research studies to evaluate and improve the effectiveness of treatments available for children and adolescents. We are currently conducting research studies in early childhood OCD and Trichotillomania, and are able to offer treatment at no cost for eligible youth.

Our staff is always working to provide schools, practitioners, parents and youth with information about these disorders and their treatments. We can be available to provide:
