Community Health Initiative at Penn
Almost half of America is underinsured or uninsured. The battle for better healthcare starts locally. The goal of our organization is to promote healthcare in West Philadelphia and other underprivileged areas in the world through community service and fundraising activities and by serving as a liaison between the undergraduate community at Penn and the various free clinics in the area. Further, our community outreach program is designated to teach local children about better health and living styles.

The club is designated for pre-medical/nursing/health students or anyone else interested who want to gain an awareness of the healthcare deficiencies in West Philadelphia and the world. Students will gain community service experiences and clinical experiences simultaneously.

Global Development Collaborative
GDC aims to focus capital, human and otherwise, through multiple sectors - mainly health care, business, and engineering. Our vision is a world where communities have enhanced access to health resources and actionable knowledge by which they can transform their quality of life. With this in mind, our mission is to improve standards of living in under-served communities around the world by harnessing the drive to develop skills in an area of interest.
While the University of Pennsylvania has many undergraduate pre-professions across all four schools, there are few opportunities for these students to do meaningful work in projects related to their future careers. We want to give pre-professional undergraduates an opportunity to gain experience in their chosen fields, while simultaneously benefiting international communities that need help.
