Ebenezer Daniel, MBBS, MPH
Ebenezer Daniel, MBBS, MS, MPH. is an Instructor in Ophthalmology and Director of the Fundus Photography Reading Center at the Center for Preventive Ophthalmology and Biostatistics. Dr. Daniel completed four years of research fellowship in the department of Ocular Immunology at the Wilmer Eye Institute, Johns Hopkins School of Medicine. He has masters-level training in Public Health Ophthalmology and International Health at the Johns Hopkins School of Public Health. Prior to this he served as the Margaret Brand Chair and Head of Ophthalmology at the Scheiffelin Leprosy Research and Training Center and as an honorary lecturer in the Ophthalmology department of the Christian Medical College, Vellore, India. He was awarded the JALMA gold medal by the Indian Council of Medical Research and inducted into the National Academy of Medical Sciences of India for excellence in research work in the field of ocular leprosy. Dr Daniel was the Principal Investigator of the WHO sponsored longitudinal study of ocular leprosy and is a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology, the Indian Academy of Medical Sciences and the International Leprosy Association. He has served as a reviewer of several leading ophthalmology journals and has more than 50 publications in the areas of ocular leprosy and ocular immunology.
