Part-Time Diagnostic Work
The Center for Psychotherapy Research at the University of Pennsylvania is seeking individuals for occasional work administering psychological assessments to depressed patients in community health centers around Philadelphia. Candidates will be trained to administer the SCID (Structured Clinical Interview for DSM-IV) and the HAM-D (Hamilton Depression Inventory). You much have at least a master's degree (Ph.D. candidates are welcome) along with some clinical training and be willing to travel to sites (a car is a necessity). The schedule will be flexible, and we expect to begin scheduling patients for diagnosis in January or February. You will be paid $50 for each hour of work and each assessment session will take between one and two hours. Duties:
Responsible for helping coordinate a federally funded grant to evaluate interventions for major depressive disorder in the community mental health system. Duties include preparing study materials; documenting and reporting adverse events; coordinating study-related IRB paperwork; monitoring study charts; providing statistical summaries and reports of progress on monitored studies; working as a liason to the community mental health system; assisting with recruitment process; putting together mailings, presentations, etc; conducting telephone screens to determine patient eligibility for research study participation; assessment of enrolled patients. Opportunities for presentation and publication are available.
Qualifications:
Minimum qualification for this position is BA or BS from approved University or college, Psychology degree preferred for this position. Candidates must be able to work independently, deal effectively with professional staff/associates, and be detail-oriented. Candidates are required to be computer literate and have working knowledge of Microsoft word processing and spreadsheet packages. Valid driver's license and car required to visit community sites in the Philadelphia area as needed. Candidates must also be willing to make a 2 year commitment to the position.
