Brain-Behavioral Vulnerabilities Laboratory
The Brain-Behavioral Vulnerabilities Laboratory (BBV) is focused on identifying, at the level of the brain, vulnerabilities that may predispose relapse in those who are addicted, and addiction in those at-risk. The goal is to characterize these vulnerabilities -- in the service of brain-targeted (behavioral or medication) interventions in those who are addicted, and - in the future - brain-targeted prevention in those at increased addiction risk.
The BBV has an integrated, multidisciplinary laboratory - its primary investigators and collaborators include neuroscientists, neuropsychologists, clinical psychologists, psychiatrists, neurologists, neonatologists, physicists, and signal processing engineers. All of these individuals contribute to the mentoring of the BBV’s post-docs and fellows.
