How Do You Know If You Have a Problem with Cocaine?

How does someone know that he or she might have a problem?

Answer YES or NO to the following questions:

  1. Have you found that you need to increase the amount of cocaine you use to get the same high you once experienced?

  2. Do you suffer from withdrawal symptoms (intense craving, depressed mood, anxiety, irritability or agitation, trouble sleeping) when the high wears off?

  3. Have you found that when you are using cocaine you’re using more of it or using more frequently?

  4. Have you tried to quit or cut down on your cocaine use, only to find that you could not?

  5. On the days that you use cocaine, do you spend more than 2 hours looking for the drug, using it or recovering from it, or just thinking about it?

  6. Do you spend less time working, enjoying hobbies, or being with family or friends because of your use?

  7. Have you continued to use cocaine even though you think it has caused you health or mental problems?

If you answered YES to three or more of the above questions you may have a problem with cocaine.  Please call us at 1-800-528-5527 to discuss your eligibility in the study.
