How Do You Know If You Have a Problem with Marijuana?

How does someone know that he or she might have a problem?

Answer YES or NO to the following questions:

  1. Have you found that you need to smoke more marijuana (or better marijuana) to get the same high you once experienced?
  2. Do you suffer from withdrawal symptoms (loss of appetite, irritability, trouble sleeping or anxiety) when you run out of marijuana or haven’t smoked for a while?
  3. Have you found that when you are using marijuana you’re using more of it or smoking more frequently?
  4. Have you tried to quit or cut down on your marijuana use, only to find that you could not?
  5. On the days that you use marijuana, do you spend more than 2 hours looking for the drug, using it or recovering from it, or just thinking about it?
  6. Do you spend less time working, enjoying hobbies, or being with family or friends because of your use?

Have you continued to use marijuana even though you think it has caused you health or mental problems?
If you answered YES to three or more of the above questions you may have a problem with marijuana.  Please call us at 1-800-528-5527 to discuss your eligibility in the study.
