Roz Brumfield received a Bachelor's degree with concentrations in Psychology and Dance from the University of Michigan, and a Master's degree in Creative Arts Therapy from Drexel University. Roz joined the CTSA in 2014 after over 25 years of working in the Community Mental Health sector in the city of Philadelphia in order to become the Community Coordinator for the Trauma Initiative project between the CTSA and the Department of Behavioral Health & Intellectual disAbility Services of Philadelphia. Roz was initially trained in Prolonged Exposure Therapy for PTSD in 2011 while working at Hall Mercer Community Mental Health Center as a therapist in this initiative. She is certified as a PE therapist and a PE supervisor and uses her expertise in PE to further train and supervise new PE therapists as part of an ongoing collaboration between the CTSA and city of Philadelphia. As the Community Coordinator for this project, Roz travels throughout the city of Philadelphia providing on-site clinical supervision to newly trained PE therapists and supervisors in Philadelphia's community mental health clinics. Her work in the community is essential to the dissemination and sustained implementation of evidence-based treatments for PTSD in the community.
