Elizabeth A. Hembree, Ph.D. is Assistant Professor of Clinical Psychology in Psychiatry of the Center for the Treatment and Study of Anxiety at the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine. She received her Ph.D. in clinical psychology from the University of Delaware in 1990. Dr. Hembree joined the Center's faculty in 1989 upon completion of her clinical internship at the Medical College of Pennsylvania/Eastern Pennsylvania Psychiatric Institute. She is the Director of Training for the CTSA and also Director of the Rape and Crime Victims Program. She has taught numerous workshops to clinicians in a variety of disciplines on the use of Prolonged Exposure Therapy (PE) for the treatment of chronic PTSD. Her scholarly publications include scientific articles and book chapters on the treatment of PTSD and OCD. Dr. Hembree is the principal investigator of a current NIMH-funded treatment outcome study investigating the dissemination of prolonged exposure therapy for chronic PTSD to clinicians in community agencies. She also provides clinical training and supervision to therapists working in the Center's ongoing randomized controlled trials in treatment of PTSD and OCD.
