PTSD Assessment and Treatment Workshop

Cost:  $300 for attendance. This fee covers the cost of workshop and supporting materials (workshop binder with all slide handouts and PTSD assessment measures).

Workshop Description: Faculty from the Center for the Treatment & Study of Anxiety will provide intensive instruction in DSM-5 diagnostic criteria for PTSD, including introducing the Posttraumatic Stress Scale for DSM-5 (Interview version – PSSI-5) as well as PTSD Diagnostic Scale for DSM-5 (PDS-5), a self-report measure of PTSD symptoms. Administration of the PSSI-5 and PDS-5 will be covered in detail and participants will rate a sample PSSI-5 and discuss the scoring rationale for the sample administration. Participants will also be introduced to Prolonged Exposure Therapy for PTSD, an evidence-based treatment for PTSD that is effective, flexible, and a best practice recommendation.

At the end of this workshop, participants should be able to:

  • Describe the diagnosis and psychopathology of PTSD
  • Administer, score, and interpret the PSSI-5 and PDS-5
  • Discuss the basics of Prolonged Exposure Therapy for PTSD
