About the Core
The Biostatistics and Biomedical Informatics Core is part of the Penn Biomedical Informatics Consortium, a partnership between:
• Penn Cardiovascular Institute (CVI)
• Leonard Davis Institute (LDI)
• Pathology
• Abramson Cancer Center (ACC)
Core Objectives
1) Help CVI investigators identify an appropriate informatics group
For collection and management of high quality research data, investigators may choose between:
• Clinical Research Computing Unit
• Biomedical Informatics Facility
2) Connect CVI investigators with biostatisticians who can help analyze their data
Core statisticians have a broad range of expertise in the development and application of innovative study designs and data analysis,
including statistical genetics, clinical trials, observational studies, and translational research.

Getting Started / New Project Proposals
CVI investigators who wish to use the Core must submit a New Project Proposal Form »
The core reviews your proposal and will contact you regarding the suitability of the proposed work.
New Project Priority is Given to:
• Investigators active in NIH-supported research, with initiatives expected to generate proposals for funded projects.
• Junior Investigators establishing their careers through pilot studies and first NIH grant submissions.
