Cardiovascular Fellowship Programs

Administered by the Cardiovascular Medicine Division, the three year Cardiovascular Disease Fellowship Program prepares fellows for careers as outstanding clinical cardiologists, clinician investigators or basic scientists. In addition to providing twenty four months of ACGME-required clinical rotations, we tailor the third year of your fellowship to meet your specific cardiac interests.

Dr. Hansie Mathelier

Hansie M. Mathelier, MD
Cardiovascular Disease Fellowship Program
Residency: Johns Hopkins Hospital
Medical School: Johns Hopkins

Dr. Mathelier graduated from Massachusetts Institute of Technology in 1998 with a degree in Chemical Engineering. Before attending Medical School she worked as a Chemical Engineer Consultant for Exxon Mobil Engineering Company from 1998 to 2000. She obtained her M.D. degree from Johns Hopkins School of Medicine in 2005 where she spent one year doing research in the Department of Informatics. During this time she attended classes at the School of Public Health and Medicine. She is a second year resident at Johns Hopkins Hospital as a member of the Osler Medical Housestaff. She is currently working on a project on acute myocardial infarction due to thrombo-embolism in patients with mechanical heart valves.
