The University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine has a large number of outstanding potential mentors spanning a wide range of research areas. To see some of the past Penn DDCRF research projects and mentors, go to our Fellows page.
As part of the application, the Penn DDCRF program asks applicants to submit a list of 2-5 potential faculty research mentors
and a brief explanation (1–2 sentences) of their research that interests them. The list is merely informational; it is not binding. Applicants can use the web links listed below to identify potential Penn School of Medicine faculty research mentors.
Below are some web links to help in the search for potential mentors at Penn:
Centers and Institutes:
The center websites may be helpful in identifying possible mentors, but potential faculty mentors are not limited to these centers:
Center for Clinical Epidemiology and Biostatistics (CCEB)
Leonard Davis Institute for Health Economics (LDI)
Institute for Translational Medicine and Therapeutics (ITMAT)
Faculty (by keyword):

After the application deadline, the Penn DDCRF Advisory Committee and Program Leaders review applications and select candidates, who will be invited to interview on March 10, 2010. At that time, the Committee and Program Leaders will identify potential mentors for the candidates to interview with, using the candidates list of potential faculty research mentors as a guide.
After acceptance into the program, fellows will be assisted in finalizing assignment to a mentor for the year-out experience. Ultimately, all students in the program will develop and submit specific research project proposals prior to or shortly after the start of the program.
