psom shield placeholderCreated in 2013 by a dedicated group of Penn Medicine friends and supporters, the Professorship serves as a lasting tribute to Michael D. Cirigliano, MD. Known for his devotion to his patients as well as his skills as a diagnostician, Dr. Cirigliano epitomizes the patient-oriented physician. Upon his retirement, the Professorship will be re-named in his honor.

From medical school onward, Dr. Cirigliano has spent his career at the Perelman School of Medicine. In addition to his internal medicine practice, “Dr. Mike” reaches those seeking medical information on television’s FOX 29 in Philadelphia. Thanks to donor support, he has designed his medical practice to attend to every physical and emotional need of his patients to create a stress-free and comfortable experience. Dr. Cirigliano has been continually recognized by both America’s Top Doctors: A Castle Connolly Guide and Best Doctors in America.

The Professorship was established with leadership support that included gifts from the Biesecker family, David Boschwitz, Duncan P. Hennes, Linda and Thomas Knox, Linda and Laddie Montague, Aileen K. and Brian L. Roberts, and the late Ed M. Snider.
