About Us
Dr. Andrea Facciabene’s laboratory is focused on cancer immunotherapy and the investigation of the network of immune responses to tumors, combining basic research and clinical investigation. The Facciabene Lab goals are to advance understanding of tumor immunology and to use the new findings to develop efficacious new therapies.
Our basic research includes the development of two new vaccination strategies: one uses mitochondria isolated from tumors (PMID: 26378078 DOI: 10.4049/jimmunol.1500281 ), the other utilizes new tumor vasculature antigen (PMID: 33563772 PMCID: PMC7875275 DOI: 10.1136/jitc-2020-001636 ). We also study regulation of the anticancer immune response by the gut microbiota and its impact on cellular therapy (PMID: 29467322 PMCID: PMC5916241 DOI: 10.1172/jci.insight.94952) and radiation therapy (PMID: 31815742 PMCID: PMC6934221 ). Our clinic research include the translation of our preclinical finding in patients.
