Aleah Caulin

B.S. Biology, Boston College, 2008

Advisors: Shane Jensen and Carlo Maley
Research description:
My research focuses on Peto’s Paradox: the observation that cancer incidence does not correlate with body size and lifespan across species. I use both computational and experimental techniques to investigate the evolution of cancer suppression mechanisms in large, long-lived organisms. In the future we hope to use this knowledge to improve cancer prevention in humans.
