IMPORTANT PENN POLICY! To insure adherence to applicable University policies, salary practices and federal law, after the search has been completed, but before an offer is made, the Hiring Officer is required to consult with Recruitment and Staffing. A signed employment application as well as authorization from the Affirmative Action Compliance Officer and DHR/Recruitment and Staffing are required before a Hiring Officer may make an offer to the successful candidate. Consequently, the Hiring Officer must complete the Affirmative Action Compliance Form and submit it to the appropriate Affirmative Action Compliance Officer for approval. After the Compliance Officer signs off on the hire, the Hiring Officer must consult with Recruitment and Staffing to determine the appropriate salary and obtain authorization to hire. Once approved, Recruitment and Staffing will forward an Authorization for Employment Action (HR2). ANY SCHOOL/CENTER THAT MAKES AN UNAUTHORIZED OFFER OF EMPLOYMENT OR A SIGNIFICANT CHANGE IN CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT OF AN EMPLOYEE ASSUMES RESPONSIBILITY FOR ANY PENALTIES, LIABILITIES AND EXPENSES WHICH MAY ARISE OUT OF THAT ACTION Here are Tips to Help You Make an Offer: Determining a Fair Salary:
