Research Description: My research project focusses on the regulation of the B cell response during influenza virus infection and vaccination. We study the mechanisms that control the differentiation and survival of virus-specific antibody-secreting cells (ASCs) following infection and vaccination that ultimately both lead to a state of long-lasting protection and immunological memory. My interests include - induction, maintenance and resolution of viral and other infections - innate and adaptive cellular responses to viral and other infection - immunological memory and protection against infections - vaccination - mucosal immunity.
