Research Description: I am interested in understanding the interactions between the commensal microflora and the immune system at barrier surfaces. Specifically, my work focuses on the dynamic cross-regulation of the resident skin microflora and the cutaneous immune system in health and disease. Understanding how distinct microbial niches can regulate immunity in different tissue sites will provide new insights into host-commensal interactions and compartmentalization of tissue immunity.
