RESEARCH SUMMARY

The primary focus of my research is the investigation of neuronal activity through the combined use of functional magnetic resonance imaging (fMRI) and near-infrared spectroscopy (NIRS). These two modalities provide complimentary spatial and temporal measurement of brain blood oxygenation changes during neuro-cognitive activity. The lab is focused on primary technique and analysis development, including the design of new infrared probes and MR pulse sequences. This field spans the areas of MR physics, optics, medical imaging , signal processing, and biostatistics.
