Holly Barilla
Holly currently runs multiple studies within the Behavioral Sleep
Medicine Program involving patients who have insomnia alone, or insomnia
and a history of depression or cancer; as well as a study at the
Philadelphia VA Medical Center (PVAMC).
Prior to joining the BSMP, Holly worked at the PVAMC primarily working
with Vietnam era veterans as well as the men and women returning from
Iraq and Afghanistan. Holly graduated from Wagner College in New York
City with a degree in Psychology. She received
multiple awards for her charity work and involvement in the NYC
community. She continued her education at the University of the Sciences
of Philadelphia where she completed her master's degree Health
Psychology. Her thesis involved content analysis of Vietnam Veterans nightmare scripts. Holly’s interests are relationships between exercise and sleep as
well as the nightmare aspect of PTSD in combat-related veterans.
