Arie Hawkins, Ph.D., is a postdoctoral researcher in the Pulmonary, Allergy, and Critical Care Division (PACCD) of the Department of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania.

Dr. Hawkins received a B.A. in both chemistry and biochemistry from McDaniel College in 2003, and completed her doctoral training in biochemistry at the University of Maryland, Baltimore in 2010. Her dissertation was entitled Structural and Functional Analysis of Non-Coding RNAs: MMLV Readthrough Elements and HIV-1 Packaging Signal.

She joined the laboratory of Dr. Surafel Mulugeta in July 2010.
