About Steve Moss
Professor Steve Moss received his BSc in Biochemistry in 1984 from the University of Bath. He went on to study with Sir Eric Barnard, receiving his PhD in Molecular Neurobiology from Imperial College at the University of London in 1989. Between 1989-1992, he took a Postdoctoral Fellowship with Dr. Richard Huganir at the Howard Hughes Medical Institute, Dept of Neuroscience in Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine, returning to University College London as an MRC Postdoctoral Research Assistant in the Department of Biology under Dr. M.C. Raff (1992-1993). In December 1993 Steve became an MRC Senior Fellow at UCL, was appointed as a Reader in December 1997, and in May 2000 was appointed Professor of Molecular Pharmacology at the MRC Laboratory of Molecular Cell Biology.
In June 2003 Steve Moss was recruited to the Department of Neuroscience in the School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania, where he continues to lead his research team.
In addition to his academic appointments Steve Moss serves as a consultant to the Neurology CEDD of GlaxoSmithKline and is a member of the Scientific Advisory Board for Wyeth Pharmaceuticals.
