Neuromuscular Disorders Fellowship

The Penn Neuromuscular Division offers an accredited clinical neuromuscular fellowship. This one-year program is designed to provide graduates of neurology residencies with a strong background in clinical neuromuscular neurology and electrodiagnosis (EMG). Fellows are exposed to a broad range of adults and children with neuromuscular disorders. This is done in outpatient settings and EMG laboratories at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania, Pennsylvania Hospital and the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia. There is training in muscle and nerve pathology. Fellows lead a weekly clinical neuromuscular conference. They are expected to spend at least two half-days/week in clinical or basic research activities. There are opportunities for starting long-term research projects after completing the clinical fellowship.
