Engagement and Retention

Departments/Divisions/Units

Workplace Environment Assessment The quality of the work environment contributes significantly to employee retention and engagement. Our office can conduct a comprehensive organizational assessment for offices and departments to identify opportunities for improvement in areas related to:

  • Organizational structure
  • Clarity of job responsibilities and related expectations
  • Effectiveness of leadership and supervision
  • Quality of professional relationships with supervisors, peers and others
  • Utilization of available talents and skills
  • Effectiveness of communication and coordination activities

Afterwards, we provide recommendations improvement strategies and can assist in implementing them.

Talent Management Support Successful organizations proactively review their key talent (faculty and staff) on a regular basis. Our office can provide advice and support for conducting an effective ongoing talent review process that addresses issues such as:

  • Anticipating future skill needs to achieve organizational goals
  • Identifying potential successors for key roles and positions
  • Assessing individual skill gaps and identifying programs and experiences to address those gaps
  • Assessing retention risk factors to minimize unwanted turnover

Teams

Team building involves developing the cohesion of a team by fostering trust, communication and cooperation among its members to make it more efficient and improve performance. Our staff can conduct a team assessment to identify where to focus to improve teamwork, and design and facilitate a process that aligns the expectations and priorities of a team. We work with project/operational teams as well as administrative leadership teams.

Individuals

Work Engagement Profile What motivates people to do their best work-to go the extra mile? Broadly speaking, two kinds of factors shape employee engagement: extrinsic rewards-pay, benefits, promotions, awards, and so on and intrinsic rewards-psychological rewards that fuel engagement by providing a positive emotional charge. The Work Engagement Profile is uniquely focused on measuring intrinsic rewards and providing insights that can directly affect your organization's results because it addresses work engagement at the core level-the employee. The assessment measures four intrinsic rewards: meaningfulness, choice, competence, and progress.

Strengths Training - NEW! An essential component of helping people feel engaged and committed in their work is helping them understand and leverage their strengths. Focusing on cultivating employees' Strengths rather than simply improving their Weaknesses can dramatically increase efficiency while allowing for maximum personal growth and success. Our new Strengths Essentials program guides people through the process of identifying their Strengths and putting them to work.
