Areas of Special Interest: Sylvia's research involves electrospinning functionalized polymer nanofiber scaffolds for meniscus and intervertebral disc tissue engineering. At the veterinary school, her focus is on laboratory animal medicine and translational models for clinical studies. Outside of lab and lecture, Sylvia can be found indulging in the simple pleasures of crafting yogurt and consuming fruit. Other personal interests include photography, fine art, hiking, adventurous eating, traveling on a dime, and the handsome Gebz.
