University of Pennsylvania

HOMETOWN
Potomac, MD

EDUCATION
Candidate for PhD, Mechanical Engineering, Stanford University 2012
BSE, Bioengineering, University of Pennsylvania 2007
BSE, Finance, University of Pennsylvania 2007

AREAS OF SPECIAL INTERESTS
An joined the lab in the Spring of 2005. Her primary focus has been nucleus pulposus mechanics in confined compression as part of Wade's thesis. Since then, An has investigated the mechanics and biochemistry of crosslinks with fellow undergradute Sounok, T-weighted magnetic resonance imaging as a continuation of Wade's work and tissue engineering under Nandan's guidance. In the Fall of 2007, she will begin her graduate studies at Stanford University in Mechanical Engineering with funding from a National Science Foundation Graduate Research Fellowship.
