David joined the McKay Lab in September of 2003 after spending over two years as the engineer/lab manager in the Musculoskeletal Mechanics Laboratory at the University of Alabama at Birmingham. Since joining McKay, he has participated in various research projects pertaining to the biomechanics of tendon healing in a mouse injury model as well as other orthopaedic biomechanical studies.

David's enjoys spending time with his wife, Hilary, as well as playing guitar; writing, producing, and listening to music; watching college football; and playing tennis and racquetball.
